Allison Colburn named Vermont Administrator of the Year

The Child Care Center in Norwich is pleased to announce that Allison received the Vermont Administrator of the Year award at the joint NHAEYC/VAEYC Administrator's Conference at Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee, Vt.   The purpose of this award is to recognize the outstanding administrator whose leadership qualities, managerial skills, and community contributions have significantly influenced early care and education in the States of New Hampshire and Vermont.

Allison has worked in the child care field for the past 31 years and has held her current position as Director of the Child Care Center in Norwich for the past 11 years.

Through her tenure, she has displayed an unwavering commitment to the achievement and advancement of high quality child care and has been a strong advocate for the recognition of the critical importance of early childhood education.

Her work in the community includes service as the recording secretary for the Upper Valley Child Care Association and an active participant in several NAEYC events both locally and nationally. At the Child Care Center, her strong and compassionate leadership style combined with her exceptional managerial skills uniquely fosters a nurturing environment of professionalism, respect, and kindness where staff thrives, children laugh and grow, and the lives of many Upper Valley families are enhanced.
